LENOX AND DISNEY UNVEIL NEW DISNEY PRINCESS-INSPIRED GIFTWARE COLLECTION BY KIRSTIE KELLY

Disney Expands Presence in Bridal Market with Upscale Giftables

Bristol, PA, October 22, 2008 – In 2009, Lenox will premier an all new wedding giftware collection inspired by the Disney Princess franchise and designed by couture designer Kirstie Kelly. In connection with Disney’s successful entry into the bridal industry with the Kirstie Kelly for Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings line, the Lenox collection offers brides the opportunity to incorporate Disney Princess-inspired giftables into the fine details of their wedding day. The Kirstie Kelly for Disney Lenox collection will be available in bridal registries across the U.S. in Spring 2009.

“The Kirstie Kelly for Disney Lenox collection reinforces our growth plans for the Disney brand in the bridal market, “said Donna Sheridan, vice president, Disney Fashion and Home. “By collaborating with a timeless giftable and collectible brand such as Lenox and merging the fresh design sensibilities of Kirstie Kelly, we’re able to bring to market the elegance and beauty of the Disney Princesses into the most detailed components of a bride’s dream day.”

This market debuts with collections inspired by two of the most recognizable Disney Princesses, Belle and Cinderella. The collection is non-character and incorporates subtle elements from the stories of both Princesses, Belle exuding stylish sophistication and Cinderella radiating classic elegance. Each collection will offer unique bridal giftware for every special occasion.

“It was a natural fit for us to produce such a unique line with Disney and Kirstie Kelly” said Sherri Crisenbery, vice president of The Lenox Group. “The magical essence of the Disney Princess brand coupled with Kirstie’s unique designs has enabled us to produce elegant additions to the Lenox brand of giftware. We’re looking forward to bringing the Disney magic and Kirstie’s unique designs into homes across America.”

“What better way to round out the bride’s wedding day than with a line of beautiful giftables inspired by each Disney Princess,” added Kirstie Kelly. “The inspiration of the Disney Princess brand is tied into the subtle details and treatments of this elegant, glamorous collection making for a truly special wedding day to remember.”

The Belle Collection
Belle’s beauty inspired a giftware collection that combines classic style with contemporary sophistication for a look as timeless as true love. Each item in the collection is crafted of ivory fine porcelain with gold accents and outlined with a distinctive bisque edge. These six contemporary pieces are highlighted by a gold tonal rose decal atop a beautiful glazed finish. The collection also includes a ring box, a jewelry tray, a posey vase and large vase, 5×7 and 8×10 frames and a decorative bowl.

The Cinderella Collection
Cinderella’s fairytale romance inspires a gleaming giftware collection that brings the enchanting elegance of a royal ball to a bride’s own day of dreams come true. Each item in the sophisticated 8-piece collection is crafted of white fine porcelain with platinum accents and adorned with rhinestones, pearls and a delicate silver mica decal. From the toasting flute’s rhinestone-studded metal stems and delicate etched bubble pattern on the glass flute tip, to the jeweled ring holder, ring box and frames, every item in the Cinderella collection exudes timeless femininity. Other pieces in the collection include a cake server and knife, and a medium vase.

“It was a natural fit for us to produce such a unique line with Disney and Kirstie Kelly” says Sherri Crisenbery, Vice President of The Lenox Group. “We are very excited to debut such elegant additions to the Lenox brand of giftware, and we’re looking forward to bringing Kirstie’s unique designs into homes across America.”

Oscar de la Renta Bridal: Everlasting Elegance

Now I know that all of us cant do a Oscar de la Renta gown….but its nice to look at. Check out his newest collection
New York – Oscar de la Renta covered all the bases in his Spring 2009 bridal collection, showcasing an ambitious array of 30 gowns that featured exquisite workmanship and fabrics at a Park Avenue church during Bridal Week in New York on Monday morning, April 14.
“I only do one bridal collection a year, so we have to have a lot of choices,” said de la Renta. “I try to make different gowns for different locations.”
And there were gowns for different characters, as well: Southern belles, Spanish dancers, high school sweethearts and classic Cinderellas, to name a few. Whatever the narrative for the bridal fantasy, however, a wedding dress by Oscar de la Renta is a must for any Park Avenue princess or those who just want to look like one for a day.
Elaborate embroidery, delicate lace and cascading ribbons, accordion pleated silk chiffon and layers that looked like petals were just some of the highlights of the elements used in the collection that had buyers from major department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman grinning ear-to-ear as they greeted de la Renta post-show.
