Ok so Im checking the Style channel and I see a tip given by Linnette and I wanted to share with you all.

D = DIY ~ DIY – Do It Yourself
I like a DIY Bride….and actually DIY folks in general. See Im not very crafy but I enjoy learning and watching other folks create beautiful items for friends and family.
But the DIY Bride…not only do they create beautiful items for their wedding day, but they end up with a beautiful heirloom for their home as a newly married couple.
Have you ever thought about making something for your wedding day such as a card box or a wedding aisle runner? You can you know and there are a few on the web that will walk you step you step in the process.
A couple of places that I recommend that you check out are DIY Bride www.diybride.com and the DIY section of Chocolate Brides.com www.ChocolateBrides.com .
Lets start with DIYBride.com
DIYBride.com is a wesite made for the DIY bride to be. The website is the brainchild of Khris Cochran, a diy’er who was sharing her ideas with brides everywhere. Her idea started as a yahoo group and morphed into the website of today.
On DIYbride.com you can find lots of downloads for everything from how to do a candy buffet to creating invitations and menu cards.
Kris has also written a couple of books called “The DIY Bride” Its a complete how to guide with instruction and cost comparions (SWEET!) letting the reader decide whether buying or creating is more cost effective for them.
And starting March 15 (today) registration is open for workshops, the first one being Photshop Invitations 101. Im sure there will be others, check the website for details.

The website is pretty cool Grab a cup of coffee and head over to www.diybride.com Oh and join the forum while your there.
Up next….Chocolate Brides. OK Im a lil biased with this one cause I’m there quite often *smile*
ChocolateBrides.com is a website for African American brides to be but its moe than that. African American women from all around the world have come together and formed a family.

There’s a section on the site, Free Downloads, thts a DIY’ers dream space. Here’s the ladies of CB have freely shared their designs, shopping list, show to sheets and pictures of their creations.
And these ladies have come up with some creations. Grab another cup of joe and head over to www.chocolatebrides.com
There are several other spots on the website for DIY creations for your special day. Check out:
www.fiftyflowers.com (DIY Flowers Flowers)
www.do-it-yourself-weddings.com
Have a good time and dont forget to share your creations!
